Yom HaShoah - Holocaust Remembrance Day

Yom HaShoah has been an official day of remembrance in Israel since 1959 when it was established by the Knesset, however the practice started in 1951. This day is Israel's day of commemoration for the approximately six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust by Nazi Germany and its collaborators, and for the Jewish resistance in that period.
